The Emerald Lock is a solid lock foreground block which was added as part of St. Patrick's Week 2015 on March 13, 2015.

Function

As a type of world lock, an Emerald Lock has all the basic properties of a regular World Lock.

It gives a similar effect like Arroz Con Pollo, giving a 10% chance of adding an extra gem drop when breaking blocks. When the bonus is applied, small clover particles will appear on the spot where the block was broken.

Trivia

• On April 2, 2016, hours after the Artsy April update was launched, the texture of the Emerald Lock was changed. 4 dark green dots were added on both the left and right side of the lock, seemingly mimicking a four-leaf clover, to prevent players from painting regular World Locks to make them look like an Emerald Lock.
• A bug was found involving the Emerald Lock, reducing the amount of seeds dropped from breaking blocks in exchange for the extra gems. It was later fixed.
• On December 11, 2017, the Emerald Lock was made untradeable for a short time due to Seth's and Hamumu's accounts being compromised, resulting in Emerald Locks being unfairly spread.
• Placing an Emerald Lock for the first time will complete an Epic Quest.
• During the early times of Display Block's release, all kind of locks could be displayed in Display Blocks. However, this lead to arise of a new scamming method, where world owners made the world public and asked other players to place locks into the Display Blocks, so they could steal the locks afterwards. Hence, in order to prevent this type of scams, the DEV team decided to make locks undisplayable. However, some worlds with displayed Emerald Locks were left behind, which are immensely rare nowadays.
