It was added on 2 September 2016. It is used to call a NPC, for example, Crazy Jim and the Operator. Telephones cannot be used during an apocalypse as of the [[Night of the Sewing Dead]] update.


During the apocalypse, the telephone reads: ''"All you hear is a eerie buzzing sounds. Guess telephones don't work during an apocalypse."''
Players can only access a Telephone from a 3-tile distance. Attempting to wrench the phone from a longer distance by wearing certain items that increase the player's build range, such as the [[Exquisite Trowel]], will result in a message saying, "''The phone cord doesn't reach that far!''"
