A consumable item exclusive to moderators but some users have this as well. It serves as a way for muting a player for ten minutes. If a player is being offensive, a moderator will use this on them, making them unable to speak clearly for a set time. Puts two grey pieces of tape on the player's mouth. It also prevents the player from making broadcasts, editing doors or signs, private messaging, and writing on [[Bulletin Board]]s, [[Mailbox]]es, and [[Holiday Gift Box]]es.

Players are duct-taped by moderators if they say offensive things. When used on a player, it gives the player the ''Duct Tape''  [[Mods|mod]], which muffles up their speech for 10 minutes. Whenever a muted player tries to chat, their words are replaced by sequences consisting of m's and f's, similar to someone in real life trying to talk with their mouth covered. Additionally, it also restricts the player from communicating with others. Getting yourself Duct-Taped on purpose would result in a ban instead.Besides you will hear a haunted sound when a player is duct taped so please Beware! 
*Equipping either [[Iron Mask]], [[Parka Hood - Orange]], [[Stitchlips]] or catching a [[Guide:Surgery#Malady De-Buffs|Grumbleteeth malady]] also muffles the wearer's voice, similar to the [[Duct Tape]].
*If a player tries to get themselves [[Duct Tape]]d, a ban may be given out instead.
*An ominous sound can be heard in a world when a player is being duct-taped there.


Remember, when mods or developers tapes your mouth, it means that they actually muted the IP address! If you are near or within the IP address' radius, you might be taped for no reason. But please do not be angry as mods and the developers wants to ensure safety in growtopia! (Same goes for being banned and cursed in Growtopia).
