The Transmatter Field is an item that can be spliced only at Night Of The Comet. It resembles an energy field pulsating with cosmic energy.

To grow, plant a Transmatter Field Seed. (Or splice a Starseed with a Display Box seed).
Additional Info
The Transmatter Field acts similar to a Display Box. Transmatter fields can be used to display items or as a donation box since only players with access to the lock can pick up the items dropped onto it.
Rarely, you can get a Transmatter Field Seed from the Rare Seed Pack, even though the comet hasn't arrived yet, the other being Asteroid Seed.
