Broadcast

Broadcasting is one of the tools in Growtopia. It is used to communicate with wider audience of Growtopia using global messages. Broadcasts have a ten minute cool-down time period between each one. /radio hides all players' broadcasts.

Requirements for Broadcasts

ALL Broadcasts

• Requires level 20+ or supporter rank.

Broadcast

• 300 Gems

Super Broadcast

• Costs 1 gem per player (depends on the amount of players online).

Custom Broadcast

• Costs 1 gem per player (Minimum: 1001, so 1001 gems)

Type of Broadcasts

Broadcast

A broadcast is done by doing /broadcast <message> or /bc "<message>" works for longer messages. This will send the message to 1000 random people for 300 gems. This means the player is paying 1 gem per 3.3334 people.

Super Broadcast

A super broadcast is done by doing /sb <message>, at a cost of 1 gem per player. This will send the broadcast to every online player. When a Super Broadcast is broadcasted, it makes a short beep sound.

There are an growtopia anniversary version of super broadcast.When you consume an party screamer. It works as super broadcast just that the text "super broadcast" will be replaced with "party scream", and it does not make that beep sound.

Custom Broadcast

This is done by typing /cb <number of players> <message>, at a cost of 1 gem per player. The mininum amount of people that can be custom broadcasted to is 1001.

Super Duper Broadcast

Super Duper Broadcasts are done by typing /sdb , for the price of 50 Growtokens. This was disabled after P.A.W 2014 due to server issues and being annoying.

Friendcast

Friendcast are done by typing /fc <Message> , for free , this will send a broadcast to all friends who are online and that are owned by the player who is broadcasting

Guild Cast

Guild cast are done by typing /gc <Message> ,for free , this will send a broadcast to all online guild members in the guild the player is in.

What not to broadcast

As stated in the rules, players aren't allowed to broadcast about drop games, trust tests, casinos, and other betting games. Doing so will get the player punished.

Other things which shouldn't be broadcasted are:

• Lying about mods being in a world when they're not will get the player punished.
• Faking official Growtopia system messages will get the player punished.
• Broadcasting from an inappropriate world name. Doing so will get the world nuked.
• Broadcast to spam /msg other players.
• Starting a super-broadcast war.
• Singling out other players

Tweaks

• Sept 2nd, 2016: Increased price of all broadcasts by 1.5 during Systems Update.
• Feb 14th, 2017: Doubled price of all broadcasts to help cut down on spam and because of inflation during Valentine's Week.
• 9th, 2018: Increased price for /cb and /sb, also increased cooldown from one minute to ten minutes.

Other Broadcasting

• A Megaphone works the same way as super-broadcasting except it is a consumable which can be traded.
• A Party Screamer works the same way as a megaphone except what is said during the broadcast cannot be controlled.
