History
The Growtoken system was implemented into the game on 30 March 2014. Players were awarded tokens based on the number of players who visited their worlds the previous day. This system was kept for over 2 years until it was completely revamped on 2 September 2016, in the Systems Update.
In the Systems Update, a rating and a daily quest system was introduced.
Method of Obtaining
In the past, players would obtain Growtokens by having players visit their worlds. However, due to the Systems Update, the past system was replaced by a rating and a daily quest system.
The rating system, which requires players to rate worlds that they visited 1 to 5, with 1 being the lowest rating and 5 being the highest, provided that the worlds have a category. The world would reward the owner Growtokens based on the rating and the rank of the world in its category.
Players can also complete the Daily Quest given by Crazy Jim, which rewards them 1 Growtoken.
If the player has achieved an awesomeness percentage of 50% and a player level of 50, the player would achieve the Life Bonus, and he or she will be granted 1 Growtoken if the player has completed all 3 of the Life Goals in a day.
If the player has achieved an awesomeness percentage of 55% and a player level of 55, the player would achieve the Mega Bonus, and he or she be granted 1 Growtoken if the player has completed all of his or her bonuses in a day.
A Growtoken is also included in the Rainin' Gems bundle, which gives the buyer 100,000 Gems, a Growtoken, and a Megaphone.

"I have some spare Growtokens I could sell you, but since they're untradeable, I can't trade em for cheap! Hacking the server to allow me to trade them to you is expensive. Plus there's the risk of getting caught. Anyway, once you get them, they're still untradeable, so keep that in mind."

Growtokens can also be bought from Locke The Traveling Salesman and Lock-Bot, at a price of 1 Diamond Lock.
Growtoken Store
The Growtoken Store can be accessed through the Growtopia Store. The store allows players to exchange their tokens for various items.
