Ancient forces have awaken! An enigmatic goddess has returned from worlds long forgotten, bringing ancestral blessings to those willing to tackle her devious riddles! And hey - even if you're not, we've added some nifty new items to discover, too!

What strange new effects will she have on your artifacts... and other equipment? There's only one way to find out! Oh, and while you're busy with the biddings of the gods, don't forget that other, darker powers are beginning to stir: Halloween is coming soon, and with it... Growganoth!

The Ancestral Power update was introduced on the 16th of October, 2017. It was a continuation of the Hidden Riches update and allowed players to upgrade their Artifacts up to level 5.

Crazy Jim's Biweekly Soul Quest

The Biweekly Soul Quest was introduced to allow players to obtain a Soul Stone from Crazy Jim, a necessity to upgrading Artifacts. Every two weeks, Crazy Jim will ask the player to complete three random tasks, completing all three of them will give the player a Soul Stone. Players cannot reset the tasks and must wait out the two weeks before receiving a new quest. Players can only obtain one every two weeks and if completed, must also wait until the two weeks are over. Crazy Jim can be reached by typing 12345 into a Telephone.

The Soul Stone can also be purchased from Locke The Traveling Salesman for 30 World Locks, but only one can be purchased from him every time he visits. This means that a maximum of two Soul Stones can be obtained every two weeks.

Upgrading Artifacts

Artifacts can be upgraded through the Ancient Altar. All upgraded Artifacts cannot be dropped or traded and players must complete riddles and deliver items in order to upgrade their Artifacts, the maximum level being level 5. Ancient Altars do NOT disappear after an item has been upgraded.

Upon wrenching an Ancient Altar, the player will meet the Ancient Goddess who will say:

"Greetings, mortal! It seems you have some ancient thing I can enhance through magic old. Tell me: Which would you like to mold? Choose wisely, for once I work my wonders, it will be bound to you for eternity..."

The Ancient Goddess will then show all the player's Artifacts and will be asked to pick one. Players must then complete four riddles, the first asking to deliver Soul Stones, the second asking to deliver either a Plasma Globe, Harmonic Chimes or a Celestial Kaleidoscope, the third asking to deliver the crystallized object used to create the artifact and the last being a daily riddle which changes depending on the day of the week.

Daily Riddle

The fourth riddle changes everyday, depending on the day of the week. A new riddle will appear at 20:00 Growtopia time.
