Account

An account is the ID which players use to play Growtopia.

GrowID

A GrowID is the account used by a player who has their progress saved and is able to play on multiple devices. Players cannot change their name (except with the use of a Birth Certificate) and must log in with their GrowID and password.

If the player does not have a Legacy Account (i.e., an account created prior to V4.61 login system), they can create a GrowID by logging in using their existing Ubisoft Connect, Google account or Apple ID.

Once the player has successfully registered their account using Google or Apple ID, they will be prompted to choose a Login Name, which will be used as their identification in Growtopia.

The features of a GrowID include:

• Inability to change your name (except with a Birth Certificate)
• Your email and password are attached to your account, which allows for changing passwords and sharing saved progress on multiple devices.
• Extra features which require a GrowID.
• Can be logged on with multiple devices.
• AAP to prevent anonymous devices from logging into the account.
• A GrowID's length should be between 3 and 18 characters.

Players without a GrowID or below level 20 will have their account subject to 'Are you a human' tests where they will be required to answer a basic arithmetic question. If the player fails to answer it after a few tries, they will be given the Silenced mod for ten minutes. Continuous failure to answer it will result in a 7-day ban. This was implemented to prevent players from creating bot accounts or accounts which automated any form of activity in Growtopia.

How to Login

For First-Time Logins:

• Launch the Game
• Click Play Online
• Select the Login Option (Google, Apple ID, or Growtopia Login)
• Enter Credentials
  • For Google and Apple accounts, players will be prompted with a pop-up page so you can enter their respective accounts’ credentials.
  • For Legacy Grow IDs, there will be an option that says “Growtopia Login” that will prompt the player to enter their existing Grow ID and Password.
• Complete the Login Process
• The account's credentials will be saved for future sessions
  • If the player's inactive for a specific duration of time, they will be asked to enter their credentials again.

For Subsequent Sessions:

• Launch the Game
• The game will automatically recognize the player's saved credentials and will see "Connected as: [Account Name]" in the lower left of the main menu.

Account Linking

Players can link and share the progress of their existing Steam or Ubisoft Connect accounts to any of their existing accounts including GrowIDs, Google accounts, or Apple ID.

Players can link their account by:

• Launching the Game through Ubisoft Connect or Steam
• Clicking on the "Link" Button located at the lower left corner of the Main Menu
  • The player will be prompted to choose which platform to link their Ubisoft Connect account / Steam account to (Grow ID, Apple ID, Google account) to share the account's progress.
  • There will be a confirmation screen for safety that follows the selection step.
• Once the account is linked, it will be known as the player's primary account.
• If the player logs on to a device that has a Guest account, they will be promoted with a profile select screen where they can choose which account data you wish to use and keep. **However, the player must make sure to choose carefully as the choice will be final and the data of the other account will be lost.

Players can only link one account at a time. Players must unlink the current linked account first before linking a new one. However, unlinking an account includes a seven-day cooldown.

To recover a player's password, the player must enter the above website and enter their GrowID and the email used to register their account. After submitting, a verification link will be sent to their email where the player will be able to set a new password.

Caution: Avoid sharing any verification link with others, as they may gain direct and potentially harmful access to your account upon accessing it.

To recover a player's GrowID, the player must enter their email in the above website which was used to register their account. After submitting, the player's GrowID will be sent to the player's email.

E-mail Change

To change a player's email registered to the account, the player must type in their GrowID and their registered email into the above website (note: the IP address of the player must match the one the player last played Growtopia with). After submitting, a verification link will be sent and the player will be able to set up a new email address.

Caution: Refrain from sharing any email change links with others, as they may gain direct permission to change the ownership of the account, also please note that people are able to gain access to this link VIA any shared media about it.

Prior to V4.61

No GrowID

Before players join the game, they will make an account with no GrowID. Players with no GrowID can change their name anytime, but, cannot transfer game progress to other devices and the game progress can only be accessed on the device.

Features of having no GrowID include:

• Able to change name anytime.
• Names will be followed by an ID from 100 to 999 (e.g. Username_452)

Restrictions of having no GrowID include:

• No password or email attached to account, cannot be recovered if lost.
• Unable to break high-rarity blocks until a certain level is unlocked and/or has created a GrowID.
• Unable to exceed level 10, until the player creates a GrowID.

GrowID

To create a GrowID, the player should click the main menu icon in the top right hand corner of their screen, then select Get GrowID, then enter their chosen name and password, as well as provide a valid email address.
