The Silkworm is a non-solid animated foreground silkworm block which was added on the 1st of February, 2016 in the Silkworm update. One can be obtained from purchasing it in the store for 7,000 Gems.
Function
When first placed, the Silkworm will be grey by default, as in it will give Silk Threads - Grey when harvested. In order to change its color, it needs to be fed some food. Depending on the food, it will change its color slightly. For example, feeding it a Blueberry will make it slightly more blue. When the color of the Silkworm is pure, it won't produce grey silk threads.
After 48 hours, each Silkworm will randomly give 1-10 Silk Threads when harvested. Silkworms need to be constantly fed with food and water every day. A Silkworm may become sick if it is not properly fed. To cure it, one can use the Antidote.
A Silkworm may die of old age after living for approximately 20 days, or because it is left sick for too long. A Silkworm Soul may be used in order to revive it.

Trivia
- Gruel and Water are the only items which can be used to feed a Silkworm that don't change its color.
- Giving a Silkworm Green Beer or Rotten Egg can also make it sick.
- At approximately 15 days of age, the Silkworm will reach an elderly stage and will have wrinkles.
- One can only feed a Silkworm in an area they have access to.
- Using a Spike Juice or an Experience Potion on a Silkworm will make it supercharged, which means that the next harvest will yield 10 Silk Threads.
- A Silkworm Toy can be used on a Silkworm, which will make it dance for a short while. The toy has a slight chance of breaking when used.
- Giving an inappropriate name to a Silkworm will cause it to be deleted.
