- This item is based on the real-life bed bugs, a type of insect from the genus Cimex that feed on blood, usually at night. They typically dwell in beds, hence their name.
- The Bed Bugs was made unobtainable as part of the Mutant Kitchen (update), being replaced by the Neon Green Mutation Layer.
