The Parrot Wings is based on the red-and-green macaw (Ara chloropterus), a type of parrot well known for having red, green, and blue feathers on its wings.
The description of Parrot Wings contains a reference to "Polly want a cracker," a well-known phrase which seems to have originated in the 1800s.^[1]
