The Pocket Lighter is a splicable consumable which was added alongside the Firefighter Pack on October 8, 2015.
Function
When consumed, the Pocket Lighter sets a single block (either foreground or background may suffice) on fire, as long as water isn't present on the tile.
Fire does not destroy any block, apart from the Highly Combustible Box. However, players can still be harmed by touching fire, which burns them in a similar manner to Lava. If not put out, fires may randomly spread to surrounding blocks in all 4 directions.
In order to reduce lags, there is an established limit of 150 fires per world.
Pocket Lighter Seed
A Pocket Lighter may drop gems or sometimes a seed when consumed, but only if it is ignited on a background block, such as a Cave Background. Using one on a solid block will never drop any seed or gem, since there is a solid block in the way.

Trivia
- The Pocket Lighter is based on a lighter, a portable device which generates a small flame, and can be used to ignite a variety of items, such as cigarettes or gas stoves.
- The description of the Pocket Lighter is an allusion to the phrase "Some men, just want to watch the world burn," which was uttered by the fictional character Alfred Pennyworth in the 2008 superhero film The Dark Knight.
- It isn't recommended to use a Pocket Lighter in a world with a Firehouse placed, since any fire started will be put out almost instantly.
- The Eldritch Flame was added in Halloween Week 2015, being a more powerful version of the Pocket Lighter. Unlike the latter, the former is able to ignite several blocks at once.
- Putting out a single fire gives the player 1 XP. Putting out 100 fires gives the player a Highly Combustible Box, which can later be used to transform certain items into exclusive rewards by dropping the items within the box, then setting it on fire.
